Image of Christ

When God created us, He created us in his own image. (Genesis 1:26) He created us for his own special purposes. Each day in our lives, we should display the image of Christ. But taking the image of Christ does not mean to work on our outer appearance but rather our inner self. That inner self is our heart and our mind.

Taking on the Image of Christ

  • Renew Our Mind:  We must allow God to transform our mind into the way he thinks. If he transforms our mind then we can become a better person for the Lord. He'll take our thoughts and turn them into positive thoughts. If we do not allow the Lord to renew our mind, then we will continue to be the same person.

  • Forgiveness: Being able to forgive others helps them to see who Christ really is. Also being able to forgive others allows the Lord to forgive you. Forgiveness is showing a change of heart in you because you are no longer allowing the anger towards someone to control you. Luke 23:24, shows that Jesus asked God to forgive those that were crucifying him. So if Jesus can forgive and ask the Father to forgive then we should be willing to forgive others.

  • Fruit of the Spirit: Operating in the nine fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control shows that we are being led by the Holy Spirit which displays that we are walking in the image of Christ.
