Overcoming addiction can be difficult when you try to do it on your own. But when you involve Christ, he'll deliver you from the addiction that is holding you captive. Once you are delivered, you must fully detach yourself from what can pull you back such as the addiction itself, the people you associate with and the environment you surround yourself in. If you continue to latch on to the things that involve your addiction or something that is similar to it, then you are allowing your addiction to resurface back in your life again. On the road to recovery, for some, overcoming addiction may be easy while for others it may be a battle, but if you stay rooted in Jesus, he will set you free from your addiction.
11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
