Too Many Distractions

One of the devil's plan is to keep us busy with distractions. When we are busy with distractions, it leaves us no time for Jesus. The enemy's plan is to keep us away from the Lord with distractions.

Distraction- Drawing someone's attention away from something

Distractions Come In Many Ways and here are just a few examples below

  • Worrying

  • Video games

  • Social Media

  • Television

Can you think of any more ways how people can be distracted?

To overcome these distractions, we must learn what comes first in our lives and when to put things on hold. Being distracted a lot not only keeps us away from Jesus but it also keeps us away from other important things such as studying, our homework and family. Jesus loves you and wants to spend as much time with you as much as he can. So spend time with him by praying, talking to him, singing him a song or read your bible.

Mary and Martha Luke 10:38-42

38 While Jesus and his followers were traveling, Jesus went into a town. A woman named Martha let Jesus stay at her house. 39 Martha had a sister named Mary. Mary was sitting at Jesus’ feet and listening to him teach. 40 Martha became angry because she had so much work to do. She went in and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me alone to do all the work? Tell her to help me!”

41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are getting worried and upset about too many things. 42 Only one thing is important. Mary has chosen the right thing, and it will never be taken away from her.”

Martha was so busy with her distractions that she missed out on the opportunity to spend it with the Lord. As for Mary, she knew when to say no to the distractions in her life because she knew spending time with Jesus was more important.

Don't let distractions get in your way. Remember when to say no to those distractions!
